Love Casts Out Fear

I am joining with for Five Minute Friday. The goal is to write for five minutes about a word. No extreme editing; no worrying about perfect grammar, font, or punctuation. Unscripted. Unedited. Real.

Today’s prompt is:

Writing about Encountering Abba’s Heart

Love Casts Out Fear

Little girl sat in Abba’s lap thinking about how glad she was to finally be here again. She had started to become weary as her old fears came up more than usual lately.

Every time she ran to Abba and sat in his lap, her fears ceased. She wished she could simply sit with him all the time so that she would never be overcome by fear again.

As little girl sat in Abba’s lap, it was as if he knew her thoughts.

“Little girl,” Abba said, causing her attention to turn back towards him.

“Yes, Abba,” little girl replied.

“Remember that I told you that you can sit with me anytime you want. You can sit with me all day and all night if you want.”

“Really? So I can sit with you even in the night?” little girl asked inquisitively.

“Of course you can. I’ll hold you and you can sleep,” Abba replied.

Little girl thought about this offer and she decided she would take him up on it. She knew she needed to remember that he was her father and that nothing could change that and that no one could take her away from him.

  1. Such a beautiful reminder that our Abba never grows weary or sleeps. He’s always available to us, for comfort, rest, reassurance, grace, to remind us just how much He loves us. Loved this!
    Visiting from FMF.

  2. O so beautiful. I need to be held by Him tonight! Such a great thing to read before bed!

  3. Sorry if you get this twice. It didn’t seem to be posting. Beautiful! I think we all could use and remember this conversation. I’m your neighbor at FMF this week.

  4. This is so beautiful, so soothing and reassuring. Oh how precious those Father’s arms. Thank you for these encouraging words. How I needed to hear them today. May God bless you and hold you in your fears and all those who visit your page here.
