Desperate

G-d came to me many years ago, and then again a few years ago, and then again. He didn’t come because I was good or because I was beautiful or because I was a delight to be with.

He didn’t come because he had heard of the latest book I had written or the awesome idea I had, or because of my articulate speech.

He came for none of those reasons. He didn’t come because I was good or great or worthy of his company.

It was the opposite really. I was crushed. I was broken. I didn’t know which way was up. I was confused and unsure of anything and my plans were in shambles. The ground was still shaking underneath my feet when he showed up.

When my mess was just about to take me under, he came.

My heart had lost hope. Disappointment had begun to take hold. I was just barely hanging on.

In this state, with sadness consuming my being, I looked up.

Help, G-d, please help. If there’s anything left for me, please help.

He came. He found me. He showed up.

When you wonder if he forgot your name
or if he sees you at all anymore

If you think there’s no way out of your situation.
or you’ve lost your way

If you’re not sure what has become of the life you envisioned

Help, G-d

Try it
What other option do you have?
What else could possibly move G-d more?

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit,
A broken and a contrite heart–
These, O God, You will not despise.

Psalm 51:17

restore Zion – day 18

Every Day for Thirty-One Days
Abba’s Heartbeat for Israel

31 Days edit big

Today’s Prompt: Taste

retore Zion

Abba, connect our hearts with Yours today
Related to Your people Israel
And let our prayers reach Your ears
And reach Your heart
That the answers would rain down upon
Israel today

Abba, good Father of Israel
Would You open eyes to see,
Open ears to hear,
and soften hearts to believe
Would You let many taste and see Your great goodness
to them, and to all

Abba, restore Israel’s vision
Let them see
Restore Israel’s soul
Let them believe
Restore Israel’s hope
May this be an hour of hope restored
Great G-d of hope
G-d who restores the brokenhearted

Abba, would You bring redemption to Zion
Would You pour out restoration like rain,
the former and latter rain together
For Zion’s sake
For Jerusalem
That Zion would shine with righteousness
That Jerusalem would burn with salvation

Abba, this is Your desire
Satisfy Your own heart
Bring Israel home to You

Thank You, great G-d of restoration

great G-d, Father to Israel

The battle rages
Another day,
The hatred rises

There is Israel
There is G-d
There is the Holy G-d of Israel

Shema Israel, Adonai Eloheinu, Adonai Echad
Hear, O Israel, The Lord our G-d, The Lord is One

There is one G-d and one Father, one Maker of all
He is one, His name is one
The Holy One of Israel
No other like Him
The Giver of life
The only one righteous

May Adonai who is the Giver of life
Fight for and protect lives all throughout Israel
May the people in the land He chose
Be saved and delivered today and this Shabbat

Abba, Your people perish
Please save them, please deliver Your firstborn
There is no other name above Your name

Baruch Atah Adonai Eloheinu Melech ha’Olam
Blessed are You O Lord G-d Kind of the universe

Please have mercy on Your people
Please give shalom this Shabbat

Thank You, O great G-d, King of the universe

A Prayer for Israel Today

This is the day the Lord has made
Let us rejoice and be glad in it
The above phrase washes over my soul as the Shabbat ends in Israel
Along with the end of Shabbat, is the beginning of rocket fire once again
Because the enemies didn’t agree to allow
More time for the humanitarian aid of their people

Abba, help Your people Israel,
Abba, help the Arab people,
Bring life and hope
Bring deliverance within and without

The enemy surrounding vows Israel’s annihilation
No peace, no life, no desire for the Jewish people to live
When the enemy worships death
There is no possibility for shalom

Mighty G-d of Israel, please fight for Israel
Mighty G-d of Israel, please fight against those who fight against You
Mighty G-d of Israel, have compassion on the people of Israel
Mighty G-d of Israel, rescue lives today

Deliver children today from death and destruction
Deliver children from fear with Your perfect love
May Your Name go forth today
May Your heart be made known to children all throughout Israel,
to Jewish children, to Arab children, to other children,
Make Yourself known
Abba, raise up a generation among the least and make them beloved
and great in Your sight
May these young ones love Your name and love Your Kingdom, beyond understanding

Make Yourself known and pour forth life
Preserve the lives of the young soldiers of Israel
Preserve the lives of the Arab people in Gaza
Preserve the lives of Your people Israel, the Jewish people throughout the Land
Rescue the wicked from the darkness that surrounds and bring Your light
throughout Israel today

May You, the G-d of life and the Giver of life
Bring forth life today
May You, the G-d of Israel
Reveal Yourself as the One G-d, the only G-d,
The righteous One, Holy and true forever
